Chaparral has gone a perfect 3-0 against Norco recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Pumas will square off against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,011 yards in their previous games.
Chaparral is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of California's top teams: Murrieta Valley, who was ranked 13th at the time (Chaparral was ranked 23rd). The Pumas took a 56-42 bruising from the Nighthawks on Friday.

Chaparral might have lost, but man, Dane Weber was a machine: he threw for 440 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.9 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 66 yards and one score. With that strong performance, Weber is now averaging an impressive 308.3 passing yards per game. 180 of Weber's passing yards were hauled in by Eli Woodard, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Norco took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 50-14 win over Roosevelt. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won four games by 31 points or more so far this season.
Chaparral better keep an eye on Julian Medina. He was instrumental in Norco's win, throwing for 311 yards and four TDs while completing 73.9% of his passes, and also rushing for 31 yards and one score. Medina is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Lee White, who gained 107 total yards and three touchdowns.
Norco didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Joshua Cobian and Kenny Carter.
Norco pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.3 points over those games. As for Chaparral, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Friday's contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Weber and Medina. Weber just won't slow down this season and has thrown 24 touchdowns (and and only 4 pick) while averaging 308.3 passing yards per game. Medina has been a dominant force too and has thrown 27 touchdowns (and and only 2 picks) while averaging 308.6 passing yards per game.
Chaparral was able to grind out a solid victory over Norco in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 48-37. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Cougars' Joseph Stoffel, who threw for 219 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 70 yards and one TD on only eight carries. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Pumas to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
