The Cedar Park Timberwolves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They took a 65-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rouse. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cedar Park in their matchups with Rouse: they've now lost six in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Cedar Park lost, one person who can't be blamed is Reid Vines. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points. Kalen Williamson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Rouse's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jojo Moore, who almost dropped a triple-double on 25 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists. Moore hasn't dropped below 19 points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Amarie Haywood, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds.
Cedar Park's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-13. As for Rouse, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cedar Park will take on Liberty Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Liberty Hill will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Cedar Park surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rouse, they will head out on the road to face off against Leander at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rouse is coming into the game with seven straight wins on the road, meaning Leander will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
