Baseball Recap: Nimitz's Losing Streak Snapped at Eight Games

Nimitz had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Irving Tigers 13-3 on Tuesday. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Angel Aleman made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Christian Ugalde was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since March 5th. Another player making a difference was Austin Minter, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

Nimitz's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 10-13. As for Irving, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17-1.

Nimitz will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
