Softball Recap: Lincoln Wins Going Away Against St. Mary's

Lincoln never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past the St. Mary's Rams 9-0. Considering the Trojans have won nine matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Alicia Ott was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mallory Wagner, who went 4-for-5 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Lincoln was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .405. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Mary's only posted a batting average of .130.

Lincoln's win bumped their record up to 11-12. As for St. Mary's, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln will square off against West at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolfpack have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.5 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for St. Mary's, they will take on Ben Holt College Prep Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bobcats have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
