Jubilee Brownsville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nick Zarate, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 18 rebounds. Zarate is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hector Cortina, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Jubilee Brownsville's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Port Isabel, they pushed their record up to 20-6 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Jubilee Brownsville will head out on the road to face off against Hidalgo at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
