With a playoff game on the line, the Harding Academy Wildcats rose to the challenge on Saturday. They walked away with a 43-35 victory over the Colts. The victory was just business as usual for Harding Academy, who after 15 games remain undefeated this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Harding Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Owen Miller, who threw for 362 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Miller is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last six games he's played. Kyler Hoover also helped out as he racked up 102 receiving yards.
Despite the loss, Rivercrest still got an impressive performance from Koby Turner, who rushed for 232 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.0 yards per carry, and also threw for seven yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Turner was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards.
Even if they lost, Rivercrest's defensive line still kept up the pressure with 3.5 sacks. In that department, Tekylun Sanders was the leader with two sacks.
Harding Academy's win bumped their record up to 15-0. As for Rivercrest, their loss dropped their record down to 12-3.
Harding Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rivercrest also has no future games currently scheduled.
