The Goshen Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Reading Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Goshen's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five matchups.
Goshen will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating New Richmond, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Warriors blew past the Lions 11-0 on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Kenzie Durbin, who gave up just five hits to keep New Richmond off the board. Durbin has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Charlize Schulz was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Macee Steele also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Reading never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Wyoming on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 21-20 victory over the Cowboys. The Blue Devils' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Meredith Hess was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Eliza Schierloh was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three runs and four RBI.
Reading hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wyoming struck out seven times.
Goshen is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Reading, their record now sits at 6-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Goshen has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Reading struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Goshen's way against Reading in their previous meeting back in April of 2022, as Goshen made off with a 19-9 victory. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
