The Peabody Warhorses can now show off 17 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Grant 77-15 at home. Given Peabody's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while Grant is ranked 297th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Peabody got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Mathews out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Mathews hasn't dropped below two blocks for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Robert Garland, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds.
Peabody is on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 22 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 26-6 record this season. As for Grant, their defeat was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-21.
Peabody will look to defend their home court on Friday against Franklin Parish at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Peabody's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches. As for Grant, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tioga at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
