Memorial is 0-10 against the Leopards since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Memorial Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Liberty Leopards at 7:30 p.m. Memorial is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
Last Thursday, Memorial took a serious blow against the Vikings, falling 55-14. While losing is never fun, Memorial can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 778th, while the Vikings are ranked 303rd).
Despite the defeat, Memorial had strong showings from Diamon Sims, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds, and Angeliz Diaz, who scored two points.
Meanwhile, Liberty had to suffer through a rough 59-16 loss at the hands of the Golden Flashes. Liberty has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-16.
Memorial came up short against the Leopards when the teams last played back in January, falling 27-21. Can Memorial avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
