Softball Recap: Mascoutah Wins Going Away Against Jersey

Mascoutah won the last time they faced Jersey and things went their way on Monday too. The Indians blew past the Panthers 7-1. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Faith Moore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Avery Boehm was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Callie Kunz was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

The victory made it two in a row for Mascoutah and bumps their season record up to 10-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Jersey, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mascoutah is set to face off against their familiar foe Civic Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Jersey will square off against rival Triad at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
