Tucson High Magnet School let Adreana Hernandez and Claudeona Lesley run wild. Hernandez went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI, while Lesley scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaliyah Grigsby, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Tucson High Magnet School hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty struck out eight times.
Meanwhile, everything went Canyon del Oro's way against Rincon/University on Monday as Canyon del Oro made off with a 20-2 win. Fans of the Dorados have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Briseis Ramirez was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Addison Potter, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Tucson High Magnet School's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Canyon del Oro, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Tucson High Magnet School hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .353. However, it's not like Canyon del Oro struggles in that department as they've averaged .466. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
