Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Linfield Christian Lions walked away with it. They came out on top against Hillcrest by a score of 46-36 on Friday. The win was familiar territory for Linfield Christian who now have five in a row.
Thomas Paschal looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 314 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80.8% of his passes. John Reynoso was another key contributor, rushing for 64 yards and two touchdowns.
Hillcrest's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Matthew Ramos, who gained 89 total yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for six yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Alfredo Vences, who rushed for 121 yards while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.
Linfield Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Hillcrest, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-6.
Linfield Christian will head out on the road to face off against Quartz Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Quartz Hill will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Hillcrest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
