In what's become a running theme this season, the Dysart Demons gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 86-42 win over Apache Junction on the road. That looming 86-42 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Dysart yet this season.
It was another big night for Nigel Anderson, who scored 16 points along with six assists and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zane Connelly, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Several Prospectors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Conor Wirries, who scored 11 points along with two steals. Omar Adam was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Dysart pushed their record up to 15-3 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points per game. As for Apache Junction, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.
Dysart will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Cortez at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Cortez will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 179th, while Dysart is ranked 41st). As for Apache Junction, Apache Junction and Vista Grande will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Vista Grande focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday.
