Wheeler is 1-7 against Boone Grove since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Bearcats will take on the Wolves at 4:30 p.m. Wheeler will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
Wheeler barely beat River Forest the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bearcats put the hurt on the Ingots with a sharp 17-2 win on Tuesday. The Bearcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Caleb McLaughlin and Braden Olson made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, McLaughlin tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Olson tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. At bat, McLaughlin went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Olson went 3-for-5 with three doubles, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those three doubles gave Olson a new career-high.
In other batting news, Blake Laba was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Nick Micciche was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI and two runs.
Wheeler was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Boone Grove came up short against New Prairie on Monday and fell 5-2.
Boone Grove saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tristan Wilson, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Boone Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Wheeler, their record is now 12-6.
Boone Grove's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Wheeler has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .486. It's a different story for Boone Grove, though, as they've only averaged .359. Will they be able to contain Wheeler's hitters?
Wheeler suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Boone Grove when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Bearcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
