The Roosevelt Roughriders had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They claimed a resounding 71-25 victory over Fort Morgan at home. With that victory, Roosevelt brought their scoring average up to 50.8 points per game.
Seppe Salvatore was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Peterson, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Fort Morgan saw an underclassman step up: Jj Marquez scored 12 points.
Roosevelt's victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-16. As for Fort Morgan, they dropped their record down to 0-20 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Roosevelt will take on Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (Northridge is ranked 252nd, while Roosevelt is ranked 272nd). As for Fort Morgan, they and Riverdale Ridge will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Riverdale Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Fort Morgan likes a good challenge.
