Baseball Recap: Whitefield Academy Has No Trouble Against Rock Creek Academy

Whitefield Academy was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Rock Creek Academy on Friday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 17-7 margin over the Lions. Considering the Wildcats have won eight matches by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Dylan Stockton, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Whitefield Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 2-6 when he doesn't). Bladen Finney was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Whitefield Academy now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Rock Creek Academy, they dropped their record down to 3-9 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Coming up, Whitefield Academy will be playing at home against LKY at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rock Creek Academy, they will head out to take on Portland Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
