Volleyball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Collegiate's Winning Streak

Collegiate dropped down to 19-8 on Friday, ending the team's seven-game streak of wins. They fell just short of The Covenant School Eagles by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

Clare Aman paced Collegiate's offense, picking up 15 kills. Aman got some help from Makenzie Weiss and her 21 assists. Ava Callaghan controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

As for The Covenant School, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since September 23rd.

Kalley Mcnish had a dynamite game, getting 15 digs and six aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Collegiate will face off against Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for The Covenant School, they will take on Cape Henry Collegiate at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
