Sayre lost to Hollis the last time the two teams met, but they didn't allow Hollis the same satisfaction this time around. Sayre had just enough and edged out Hollis 27-24. Having pegged this as anyone's game, the MaxPreps state rankings were right on the nose.
The victory bumped Sayre's record up to 2-4. Hollis are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-6.
Next week Sayre take on Hobart at 7:00 PM. Hobart have averaged 39.75 points over the course of their past three games, so Sayre might be in for a challenge. As for Hollis, they will face off against Merritt. Both of those teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
