The Royal Highlanders will challenge the Chaminade Eagles at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Royal is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Grace 11-2 on Tuesday. The Highlanders not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 21, 2025 (when they won 11-1).
Alexis Aleman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Royal got a massive performance out of Lidija Faubert, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Faubert has posted since back in April of 2025. Hayden Miller was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Royal always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Chaminade strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Calabasas a 25-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
Chloe Cardona was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Casey Glantz, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Royal's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Chaminade, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.
Royal got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 against Chaminade by a conclusive 7-1 score. Will the Highlanders repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
