Russell is a perfect 8-0 against Fairview since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Red Devils will host the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Russell will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Russell had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt South Point on Tuesday. The Red Devils blew past the Pointers 9-2. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won 11 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Kyle Mokas made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Elijah Hankins was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Hayden McGuire, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Russell hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Fairview's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Blazer on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Tomcats: they've now lost five in a row.
Russell's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-9. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Fairview, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.
Everything went Russell's way against Fairview in their previous meeting back in March, as Russell made off with an 11-1 win. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
