After a string of four wins, the Mount Pleasant Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 69-60 to South Stanly. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
South Stanly was led to victory by Drew Gaddy and Gavyn Miller. Gaddy scored 24 points along with five assists, while Miller scored 21 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ethan Gaddy, who scored 12 points.
Mount Pleasant now has a losing record at 9-10. As for South Stanly, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Pleasant will face off against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Stanly, they will head out on the road to take on the Comets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Stanly knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 18 games -- so hopefully the Rowdy Rebel Bulls like a good challenge.
