Albuquerque Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their third straight  loss. They fell  11-6 to the Valley Vikings. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Albuquerque Academy of the  3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  on April 2nd.
  Brooklynn Dominguez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored two  runs while going 1-for-3.
 On Valley's side,  Alexus Zubia-Olivas made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out nine batters over  seven innings while giving up  six earned runs off   11  hits (and only one walk). Zubia-Olivas was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with a  home run and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Jaylyn Kelly, who  went 4-for-5 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and a  triple.  Makayla Ringo was another key contributor,  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances with three  RBI.
 Albuquerque Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Valley, their victory  ended  a  three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 14-8.
 Albuquerque Academy will  face off against Hope Christian at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Albuquerque Academy has given up an average of 9.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Valley, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Valencia at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
