North Surry unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 28-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alleghany Trojans on Friday. Cade Atkins and Beau Carson certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Atkins threw for 147 yards and two TDs on only 12 passes, while Carson picked up 50 receiving yards and one score.
Damon Davis had a dynamite game For Alleghany., rushing for 117 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 60 yards.
