Tarboro is 9-1 against North Edgecombe since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Tarboro Vikings will finish 2023 at home by hosting the North Edgecombe Warriors at 6:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, North Edgecombe came tearing into last Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Rocky Mount Prep 71-15 at home. That looming 71-15 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for North Edgecombe yet this season.
North Edgecombe got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ke'Ziyah Pittman out in front who scored 11 points along with nine steals and seven assists. Those nine steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of ChyAsia Garrett, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and six steals.
Tarboro now has a losing record at 1-2. As for North Edgecombe, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1.
Everything came up roses for Tarboro against North Edgecombe in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 66-26 victory. Does Tarboro have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Edgecombe turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
