Skyview and Vallivue are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2023, but likely not for long. The Hawks will take on the Falcons at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Skyview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.6 runs per game this season.
While Skyview's win against Emmett wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hawks skirted past the Huskies 5-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.
Maegan Marek looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Skyview saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kenna Bettencourt, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Bettencourt is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played. Corinne Punkoney also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Vallivue faced Middleton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Falcons came up short against the Vikings, falling 11-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Sophia Kassotis made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 4-for-4.
Skyview's victory bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Vallivue, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-6.
Vallivue's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Skyview has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Vallivue, though, as they've been averaging 9.3 hits. Given Skyview's sizable advantage in that area, the Falcons will need to find a way to close that gap.
Skyview suffered a grim 17-7 defeat to Vallivue in their previous matchup on Monday. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
