The Shades Valley Mounties had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Center Point 44-41. Given Shades Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Center Point is ranked 354th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Shades Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jeremiah Williams out in front who scored nine points along with three steals. Williams hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Rashad Bryant, who scored ten points.
Shades Valley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-6. As for Center Point, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shades Valley will be home for the holidays to greet Huffman at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Center Point won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Pinson Valley at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Hopefully Pinson Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Saturday.
