The Florida State University High School Seminoles will head out to take on the Leon Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Florida State University High School beat Taylor County 8-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Seminoles.
Sam Clark made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.
In other pitching news, Brayden Wood looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Tegan Washington, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Cohen Tigerina was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Florida State University High School kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Taylor County only managed five hits.
Meanwhile, while Leon put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Rickards. Leon was the clear victor by a 12-0 margin over Rickards. Considering the Lions have won ten matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Connor Borges was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Leon is 7-1 when Borges posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kolbe Baker, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Florida State University High School's record is now 5-15. As for Leon, their record now sits at 12-7.
Florida State University High School might still be hurting after the 13-4 loss they got from Leon in their previous meeting back in February. Can Florida State University High School avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
