Corpus Christi Moody's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Audrey Torres, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and three steals, and Raelene Avalos who scored 12 points along with three steals. Torres hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games.
Meanwhile, Flour Bluff had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Carroll 54-27 on the road. Flour Bluff has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 25 points or more this season.
Corpus Christi Moody dropped their record down to 11-13 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.3 points per game. As for Flour Bluff, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Corpus Christi Moody was dealt a bruising 48-11 defeat at the hands of Flour Bluff when the teams last played on January 9th. Can Corpus Christi Moody avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
