Mentor had won four straight games and Jackson Farley did his part to make it five on Friday. The Cardinals blew past the Medina Battling Bees, posting a 49-0 win for which the team can thank Farley, who rushed for 102 yards and three scores on only six carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 59 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
One reason for the win was Mentor's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Logan Mitchell was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. Carson Wolk was another major factor on D, making eight total tackles (1.0 for loss) and snagged an interception which he returned for a touchdown.
Mentor's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Medina, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
