The Leonard Lancers can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. They blew past Pahokee 71-44 on the road. The victory was just what Leonard needed coming off of a 79-53 defeat in their prior game.
Leading Leonard to victory were Cory Jones and Emmanuel Augustin. Jones scored 21 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Augustin scored 32 points along with six assists and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Augustin has scored all season. Breche Eriscar was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Despite the defeat, Pahokee saw an underclassman step up: Javian Jones scored 20 points.
Leonard's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Pahokee, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season.
Leonard won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Trinity Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Trinity Christian Academy will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Pahokee will take on Clewiston at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
