The Cardinal O'Hara Hawks waltzed into their contest Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. They claimed a resounding 80-49 victory over Global Concepts at home. Considering Cardinal O'Hara has won three games by more than 25 points this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cardinal O'Hara to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kels Ivey, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The game was Ivey's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Simmarion Threet, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Global Concepts lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kobe Torres, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds. Edwin Garcia was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Cardinal O'Hara's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Global Concepts, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
Cardinal O'Hara will be playing in front of their home fans against Canisius at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Canisius presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cardinal O'Hara in New York (Canisius is ranked seventh, while Cardinal O'Hara is ranked 189th). Global Concepts will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on City Honors at 4:30 p.m. on December 29th.
