Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bunnell). They claimed a resounding 95-62 win over the Amistad Wolves. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Wolves are ranked 94th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Wolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Takki Oliver, who posted 19 points in addition to six boards and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Miguel Chaparro, who put up 14 points and seven assists.
Bunnell's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. As for Amistad, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Bunnell will welcome New Milford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bunnell knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully New Milford likes a good challenge. As for Amistad, they are taking a road trip to take on Woodland Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
