The Hilliard Red Flashes waltzed into their matchup Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They ended the year with a bang, routing Bronson 75-55. Given Hilliard's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while Bronson is ranked 562nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hilliard got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was CJ Hall out in front who scored ten points along with five rebounds. The match was Hall's third in a row with at least ten points. DJ Alderman was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
Hilliard's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Bronson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Hilliard will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Hawthorne at 5:00 p.m. Bronson will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Dixie County at 8:00 p.m. on January 8, 2024.
