McLean's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. Their rough 63-41 defeat to Smith Jewish Day School might stick with them for a while. The matchup was a close 27-24 at the break, but unfortunately for McLean it sure didn't stay that way.
When it comes to explaining why McLean lost, one person who can't be blamed is Eros Marchello. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. Marchello scored a full 53.7% of McLean's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Nathan Galeone was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
McLean's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Smith Jewish Day School, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McLean will square off against Springdale Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Springdale Prep has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 232 points over their last three matches. As for Smith Jewish Day School, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Anselm's Abbey on Monday.
