The El Monte Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight defeat. They fell 53-40 to South El Monte. El Monte has not had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
South El Monte was led to victory by Tony Aguilar and Aden Segura. Aguilar dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, while Segura scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Eli Lopez was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
El Monte has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 18 of their last 19 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-27 record this season. As for South El Monte, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-15.
El Monte does not have any more games scheduled as of now. South El Monte also has no future games currently scheduled.
