The Fabens Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by Mountain View 73-36. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Fabens has suffered yet this season.
Mountain View's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Julian Escobedo, who scored 26 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Escobedo has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Matthew Slosar, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Fabens' defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-15. As for Mountain View, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-17.
Fabens will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Fort Hancock at 5:00 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Fort Hancock focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Friday. As for Mountain View, they will be playing at home against San Elizario at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
