The Columbus Grove Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Black River Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Columbus Grove will be looking to keep their 11-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Columbus Grove can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 42-17 margin over Lakota. With Columbus Grove ahead 29-3 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Columbus Grove's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trenton Barraza led the charge by rushing for 112 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Barraza hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for seven straight games. Kyle Hopkins was another key contributor, picking up 124 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Black River fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They enjoyed a cozy 24-6 victory over Western Reserve on Friday. 24 seems to be a good number for Black River as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Columbus Grove's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Black River, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
