It was a good run, but the Flanagan Falcons unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They were beaten by Somerset Prep 74-25. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Flanagan has scored all season.
Flanagan lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being D?naela Myers, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. Myers is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Gabrielle Palmer, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Jocelyn Gagnon continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Somerset Prep, scoring 20 points along with six assists and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gagnon has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Stoker, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Flanagan's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Somerset Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Flanagan will take on the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Somerset Prep, they will be playing at home against the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pembroke Pines Charter will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the are ranked 19th).
