If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for South View. They will square off against Overhills at 7:30 PM on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, South View and Overhills will really light up the scoreboard.
It's was a good run, but South View finally witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak. They took a 41-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Terry Sanford. South View's loss came about despite a quality game from junior Matthew Pemberton, who rushed for 226 yards and 4 touchdowns. Pemberton has now scored at least one touchdown in the past eight games.
Meanwhile, Overhills were the first on the board but had to settle for second at the end of their game against Westover last Friday. Overhills were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap, as they fell 41-46 to Westover.
It was close but no cigar for South View as they fell 27-30 to Overhills the last time the two teams met. Maybe South View will have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back on MaxPreps for all the details.
