Bekah Mitchell put in work while hitting and pitching. She tossed 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits. Mitchell was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three runs and one triple. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Liany Rosario made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5. Another player making a difference was Olivia Nogueras, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-5.
The victory got Lyman back to even at 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cornerstone Charter Academy will head out to take on Astronaut at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lyman, they will venture away from home to challenge Lake Brantley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
