Saint Stephen's Episcopal is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Sarasota Christian a 7-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won five matchups by four goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Sarasota Christian from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Gavin Winterhalter led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Out-of-Door Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Bradenton Christian on Thursday. Given the Thunder's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Panthers are ranked 521st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Out-of-Door Academy is also on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 48 goals over those 13 contests. As for Saint Stephen's Episcopal, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5-1.

Saint Stephen's Episcopal was able to grind out a solid win over Out-of-Door Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, winning 4-2.
