If the Lee-Scott Academy Warriors were feeling good off their 76-19 takedown of the Southern Prep Academy Fighting Rangers on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lee-Scott Academy fell 63-55 to Valiant Cross Academy on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Lee-Scott Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Haiden Harper, who scored 17 points along with five assists and four steals. Harper hasn't dropped below 15points for 15 straight games. Another player making a difference was William Liles, who scored nine points.
Valiant Cross Academy found their leader in underclassman Deshawn Hall, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 15 rebounds. Hall is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of John Cosby, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Lee-Scott Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-5. As for Valiant Cross Academy, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 19-4.
Lee-Scott Academy will head out on the road to take on Glenwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Glenwood and Lee-Scott Academy are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Valiant Cross Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Macon-East Montgomery Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Macon-East Montgomery Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while Valiant Cross Academy is ranked 66th).
