Even if they lost, University's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.
Meanwhile, Resurrection Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 21-16 to Wellington.
University will have to contain Britton Walston as he made an impact in Resurrection Christian's last game. He rushed for 172 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 9.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 31 receiving yards. Walston showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 65 yards.
Resurrection Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Camden Davis. Mwanje (Mj) Peterson was another major factor on D, forcing one fumble and making 28 total tackles (1.0 for loss).
University's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Resurrection Christian, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-3.
