Whitney had lost three straight on the road, but  on Friday they dropped down to 2-6 to make it four. They were  outmatched by the Folsom Bulldogs and fell  48-7. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 190th, while the Bulldogs are ranked tenth).

As for Folsom, the  victory was  the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1. Those  wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.8 points on average over those games.
  Ryder Lyons had another great game (as  he tends to do), throwing for 311 yards and three  TDs while completing 87% of his passes, and also rushing for 71 yards. His passing production has been exceptional  recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 304  passing yards. Another player making a difference was  Jayden Padgett, who picked up 118 receiving yards and a pair of  scores.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Whitney is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Oak Ridge  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Folsom will  challenge  rival Jesuit  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
