The Rockmart Yellowjackets won the last time they faced the Bowdon Red Devils, and things went their way on Saturday too. Rockmart strolled past Bowdon with points to spare, taking the game 69-52. Given Rockmart's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while Bowdon is ranked 532nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rockmart was led to victory by Samuel Johnson and Treylin Davis. Johnson scored 22 points along with two steals, while Davis scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Davis hasn't dropped below 15points for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Hunter Atkins, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Rockmart's victory bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Bowdon, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rockmart will take on Murray County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bowdon, they will head out on the road to square off against W D Mohammed at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
