After a string of three wins, the Grove City Christian Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They were beaten by Wellington School 57-28. Grove City Christian was down 44-18 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Grove City Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Emma Vanzuiden, who scored seven points along with three steals and three blocks.
Grove City Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Wellington School, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grove City Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Flames at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. As for Wellington School, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bobcats at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Tatum Lusher and Elodie Ware.
