Basketball Recap: Potlatch Drops Highest Score of Season Against Logos

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Potlatch). They managed a 48-43 victory over the Logos Knights on Monday. The Loggers didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

Potlatch had a senior duo take command as Kathryn Burnette almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine boards and Brieanna Winther went 5 of 10 on her way to 14 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Burnette has scored at least a third of Potlatch's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Mitchell, who posted five points in addition to ten assists and six boards.

Potlatch was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in five consecutive games.

Potlatch's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Logos, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Kamiah the next time they take the court. Potlatch will head out to face Kamiah at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Logos will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
