The Ferriday Trojans and the Kentwood Kangaroos squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Ferriday Trojans had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Kangaroos 46-8. Ferriday was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-0.
Caleb Ellis threw for 56 yards on five of 19 attempts.
Desmen Jefferson was his top target, picking up 40 receiving yards. On the ground,
Taevion Edwards rushed for 79 yards.
Kentwood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Eric Earl jr out in front who threw for 346 yards and five touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Germarcus Wilson did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 80 receiving yards.
Ferriday has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Kentwood, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.
Ferriday does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kentwood will be playing at home against Homer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
