It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Strake Jesuit had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Seven Lakes Spartans with a sharp 15-7 victory. The result was nothing new for the Fighting Crusaders, who have now won nine games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Strake Jesuit is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Seven Lakes, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-11.

Strake Jesuit will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Spartans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
