It was fun while it lasted, but Holy Cross's undefeated season came to an end after four games on Sunday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 42-41 to the Middle Township Panthers. The loss was the Lancers' first of the season.

Leading Middle Township to victory were Amir Elston and Jamir McNeil. Elston went 5 for 11 on his way to 14 points, while McNeil posted 13 points and seven rebounds.

Having lost for the first time this season, Holy Cross fell to 4-1. As for Middle Township, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holy Cross won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Bordentown at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Middle Township, they will square off against Wildwood Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Middle Township is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.3 points per game this season.
